This CLE course will guide patent counsel on protecting AI-related inventions. The panel will discuss the risks and opportunities of AI-derived innovations. In recent years, AI patent activity has significantly increased. AI technology is complex and increasingly applied in many different contexts. However, patent practitioners face the challenge of effectively protecting new AI technology development. AI-related inventions pose challenges for drafting patent applications such as the issues of subject matter eligibility, sufficiency of disclosure, and obviousness.
