Continuing Legal Education (CLE)

Live Webinars

Credits Available
Strafford legal webinars are usually eligible for 1.5 general CLE credits, depending on program length and state rules. Programs with "ethics" in the title of the event generally earn between 0.5 and 1.5 ethics credits. In addition, many states will grant self-study CLE credits for listening to recorded events.

Accreditation
Strafford is accredited as a CLE sponsor by AK, AL, AR, CA, CO, CT, DE, GA, HI, IL, MO, MS, MT, NE, NH, NM, NV, OK, PA, RI, SC, TX, VA, VT, and WV. Strafford can also process CLE credits for AZ, IA, ID, KY, LA, ME, MN, NC, ND, NY (except NY attorneys admitted within the last 2 years), OR, TN, UT, WA, and WI.

Strafford does not seek direct accreditation of live or recorded webinars and teleconferences for FL. Attorneys must self-apply to the Florida Bar for CLE course attendance credit.

Upon request, Strafford will supply Florida attorneys with the Continuing Legal Education Application for Course Attendance Credit along with a Strafford Certificate of Attendance to verify participation.  The completed application will need to be submitted by the attorney completing the course directly to the Florida State Bar along with a course brochure and/or outline. Due to restrictions of the following jurisdictions, Strafford cannot provide CLE credit processing for attorneys admitted within the last two years in IN, NY, OH or PR.

Processing
To obtain CLE credit using Strafford's CLE processing service, attendees must participate in the live event and confirm their participation by completing and submitting an Attendance Affirmation/Evaluation after the webinar.  Continuing education credit processing must be ordered and paid by 5PM the day of the program to receive a Certificate of Attendance within 24 hours.

Since reporting requirements vary widely by state, attendees are encouraged to apply within 30 days.

On-Demand CLE

Many states grant CLE credits—participatory, self-study, non-traditional/alternate format—for on-demand streaming audio programs. Refer to our state CLE map for state-specific information.

Strafford's On-Demand CLE is pre-approved in the following states and you may request credits immediately: AK, AZ, CA, HI, MT, NJ**, NM, NV, NY**, WI, WV, VT*.

*Courses with ethics credit must be submitted for approval before CLE credit can be given
**Courses approved via “Other Approved Jurisdictions" Rule

We will also process participatory, self-study  or non-traditional/alternate format credit in the following states upon request: AR, CO, DE, GA, IA, ID, IL, IN, KS, KY, LA, ME, MN, MO, NC, ND, NE, OH, OK, OR, RI, SC, TN, TX, UT, VA, WY.  If you are applying for credit in one of these states, make sure to select those states when placing your order as processing time varies.

Recorded Events

Many states grant self-study CLE credits for recorded events. Refer to our state CLE map for information about your state.

Strafford will provide a CLE certificate of attendance to the person listed as the attendee on the order receipt.

Available Recorded Formats
Strafford webinars are available as Recorded Audio Downloads (MP3) and Recorded Webinar Downloads and DVDs. All program formats include access to speaker handouts—as separate PDFs with the audio formats and included in the presentation materials in the video formats.

Strafford's legal program recordings are pre-approved for self-study credit in AK, AZ, CA, CT, MO, MT, NY*, TX, VT, WA.

*NY CLE rules uniquely require self-study listeners to verify their participation by submitting the NY Affirmation Form for Recorded Events.  Please contact Strafford's CLE department at 1-800-926-7926 ext. 35 or CLE@straffordpub.com for this form.
