This CLE webinar will provide oil and gas attorneys an in-depth analysis of the final rules for gas pipelines issued by PHMSA. The panel will discuss key provisions of the final rules, including but not limited to distribution integrity management program exemptions and farm taps, inspection requirements for atmospheric corrosion control, reporting requirements, and other key items.

Description

On Jan. 11, 2021, PHMSA issued final rules amending gas pipeline regulations. Oil and gas counsel, developers, and operators must recognize the significant impact of these rules on pipeline development and operations.

To reduce or eliminate unnecessary regulatory burdens, the rules provide operators with the option to maintain pressure regulating devices on farm taps under either the distribution integrity management program requirements or 49 C.F.R. 192.740 and include certain exemptions, revisions to the atmospheric corrosion control inspection requirements, reporting and information collection updates, and new pressure vessel testing requirements.
