This CLE webcast will provide guidance to counsel for companies doing business internationally on the latest anti-corruption-related developments. The panel will review enforcement activity under the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) and discuss the Department of Justice's (DOJ) Pilot program and the SEC’s whistleblower program. The panel will also discuss the agencies’ likely priorities for 2017.

Description

The FCPA was a top priority in 2016, which ended as a precedent-setting year for the FCPA. The DOJ and Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) brought the highest number of enforcement actions, resulting in a significant year of enforcement. This increase in enforcement activity has continued into 2017.

The DOJ and SEC’s combined enforcement actions resulted in over $2 billion in penalties. Additionally, foreign regulators levied billions more in coordinated prosecutions. In 2016, the DOJ also introduced its FCPA Pilot program to encourage self-reporting and cooperation.

Listen as our authoritative panel reviews the latest FCPA developments and enforcement activity and discuss their impact. The panel will also discuss the DOJ’s Pilot program and the SEC’s whistleblower program as well as the agencies’ likely priorities for 2017.
