This CLE webinar will provide energy counsel with guidance and insights into the new Texas specialized business court system, how it will operate, and the implications for energy companies.

Description

In 2023, Texas created a new system of specialized business courts, known as the Texas Business Court, to preside over certain high-value complex commercial disputes.

After appointment, confirmation of judges, and adoption of procedural rules, the Texas Business Court officially started hearing cases on Sept. 1, 2024.

There are many questions about how the new forum will operate. But the specialized court is expected to reshape how large-scale energy cases, and particularly oil and gas cases, are handled in the state.

Energy attorneys and energy companies need to understand how the new court will operate as well as the broader implications for energy companies operating in Texas.

Listen as our panel discusses key features of the Texas Business Court and shares strategic considerations for navigating cases in this new legal landscape.
