Trademark counterfeiting is a continuing threat to businesses worldwide, and the Internet has become the most effective sales channel for trademark infringers. In fact, Internet counterfeiting cost the U.S. economy a projected $137 billion in 2008.

Trademark counterfeiting inflicts significant damage on a company's brand, image and products. Intellectual property (IP) attorneys play a critical role in policing their clients’ trademarks and protecting against Internet counterfeiting.
