and Premises Liability Report
Well-designed and executed post orders are the foundation of an effective corporate security program.
They should be detailed enough to provide a measuring stick for officer performance, clear enough to communicate your expectations for manpower and training to your security services provider, and forthright enough to defend against a potential lawsuit alleging inadequate security.
Fall short in any of these criteria and your company is at risk.
Listen as veteran corporate security professionals and consultants give you a blueprint for creating effective post orders and ensuring that they are followed throughout your organization.
The panel included:
John Dobrzynski, Loss Prevention Supervisor, Aurora Health Care, Milwaukee. He has worked as a Security Supervisor for this hospital chain since 2001. He has worked in health care security since 1991 and previously consulted with the Milwaukee Police on gang activity.
Frank Brown, Security Manager, Sony Electronics, San Diego. He has been with Sony for seven years, including five years as head of security for the company's major logistics center in Carson, Calif. Previously, he worked on the Sony account for Guardsmark.
Chuck Brock, VP of National Accounts, Wackenhut Corp., Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. His company is one of the country's largest providers of contract guard services.
Eric Levine, Former Chief Security Officer, Prudential Financial, Newark, N.J. He left Prudential recently to form a security consulting firm called The Levine Group in Cranford, N.J. Previously in his career, he was a State Department special agent in the diplomatic corps.
The panel provides guidance to help you:
- Ensure that your post orders have all the measurable standards your company needs to guarantee a high-quality security effort.
- Clearly communicate post orders, both initially and through periodic updates.
- Establish a testing and monitoring system to ensure that your officers are fully informed of changes and that they are following the orders in a disciplined fashion.
- Convey exactly what your company expects from its security services provider.
- Document your company’s efforts to give staff, customers and visitors proper security.
