Product Liability Recalls: Preparing for a Recall and Mitigating Legal Risks
Determining Factors for Issuing a Recall, Timing Considerations and Defense Strategies
Recording of a 90-minute CLE webinar/teleconference with Q&A
Conducted on Wednesday, June 20, 2012
Recorded event now available
This CLE webinar will prepare counsel to represent clients involved in a product recall, both voluntary and mandated. The panel will discuss strategies for planning a recall, managing and mitigating legal risks, and implementing defense strategies.
Description
How counsel assesses, prepares for and mitigates risks in a product recall differs depending on whether the recall is voluntary or government-mandated. Failing to conduct a recall in a reasonable manner or to issue a recall when appropriate can expose your client or company to liability.
With state law divided on recall obligations and potential federal law preemption in the area of recalls and product liability, counsel must assess which laws will apply and the potential liability and damages exposure.
Listen as our panel of product liability attorneys discusses approaches for preparing for, assessing, managing and mitigating risks associated with a product recall. The panel will identify defense strategies when a recall is issued, whether voluntary or government mandated.
