Conducted on June 9, 2005 Now available on CD Presented by: International Municipal Lawyers Association and Municipal Litigation Reporter |
As telephone companies begin to enter the cable business and approach municipalities for franchises, what are the challenges local governments and their attorneys need to be prepared to handle?
Listen as our authoritative panelists take you step-by-step through a standard franchising agreement and identify the problems to watch out for, including language on franchise fees, government channels, basic cable system definitions, and how to avoid waiving municipal rights.
In addition, they'll brief you on the general issues you need to understand related to cable franchising and bring you up to date on proposed federal legislation in this area.
